Tuesday 29th March @ 7-8:30pm, Online
Dharma, not Karma... It's not a typo.
Dharma is a yogic concept that we are introduced to in the famous Hindu scripture The Bhagavad Gita, which is a chapter, made up of 700 verses from the epic Mahabharata. Now don't let this put you off, because I'm not setting you reading homework. But we will start the workshop by discussing a couple of the verses from The Bhagavad Gita, and we'll break them down to what we understand, and to something that is relevant now, rather than on a battle field thousands of years ago.
A brief and vague translation could be: To find your purpose, your "Why" and then living accordingly.
As with all AHY workshops we discuss and learn about Dharma in a very real way, if we're to implement a yogic mindset and concepts into our life we need to learn in a way that makes it both applicable and manageable, and we do just that with Dharma. This workshop could be considered an entry point into the subject as Dharma is hugely broad, by keeping it light it allows us to work on what we learn this time and then consider diving deeper at a later stage.
When applying Dharma into every day life we need to consider the 4 different stages of Dharma and how each of them is applicable to us now and how to start considering them.
Finding your 'purpose' can be a life long quest, and often we get lost in the minutia of day to day life and never even consider that we might be here for a reason.
This workshop will allow you to take some time consider where you feel your life is right now and where you'd like it go. This doesn't mean you have to act on your findings, or completely change your life, but what it might do is help you choose future paths, projects, goals and decisions.
The workshop will be held on Zoom, starting at 7pm and ending around 8:30pm.
