The House Rules
Please read and understand our House Rules detailed below before booking a retreat with Alex Howarth Yoga. By booking a retreat with Alex Howarth Yoga, you will be confirming your agreement to the Terms & Conditions and these House rules.

3- CHANGES TO THESE HOUSE RULES
We may need to make changes to these terms and conditions from time to time. Any changes can only be made by us and not any third party member. We reserve the right to amend or improve these terms and conditions without prior notification. When it is necessary for changes to be made, we will forward you a copy of these changes and all reservations will abide by the amended terms, with the exception of reservations already made.

1- The Cattle Shed - House Rules
- All yogis must stick to their allocated accommodation, if changes need to be made Alex Howarth Yoga must be informed prior to the change as the change has to be in compliance with health and safety and fire safety guidelines.
- No excessive noise at any point during the retreat, if this occurs you personally may incur a penalty of up to £300
- No excessive noise or music after 10pm
- You must respect the Cattle Shed neighbours and limit noise in the car park especially (no slamming car doors etc)
- All day guests must have left the property by 10pm
- No smoking on the premises, Cattle Shed and Alex Howarth Yoga reserve the right to ask you to leave if you are found to be smoking on the property, you will not receive a refund in this instance
- The Cattle Shed and Alex Howarth Yoga hold no responsibility for loss or damage of your items while on the retreat
- No recreational drugs on the premises, The Cattle Shed and Alex Howarth Yoga reserve the right to ask you to leave if you are found to be partaking in or in the possession of drugs on the property, you will not receive a refund in this instance
- Alex Howarth Yoga requests you don't bring or drink alcohol on the retreat.
2- The Yoga retreat/Alex's rules
- You will act and speak with kindness to others and yourself for the duration of the retreat
- You will respect others when talking
- You will not cause conflict or arguments unnecessarily, however debate and healthy conversation is encouraged
- You will listen to your body and only participate in classes where you body feels right to do so
- You will inform Alex of any injuries or changes in health conditions before and during the retreat
- You will inform Alex of any dietary requirements before the retreat is due to start
- You will inform Alex should you need to change accommodation
- You will partake in the yoga and workshops in a non harmful sense. If you feel your mind or body are not in the right place to attend a class, or your mindset may negatively impact other participants I kindly ask you to miss the practice and look to attend the next or when you feel more up to it
- You'll be asked to leave a class or workshop should your behaviour be disruptive or upsetting
- You'll be asked to leave the retreat if your behaviour is deemed to negatively affect others on the retreat, you will not receive a refund in this instance
- I ask we eat together for the evening meal, and our last breakfast on Monday, otherwise your time is your own
- Please respect the privacy and wishes of others, if someone needs some time alone or in peace allow them to experience this
- You will all have a different reason for being on the retreat, please respect the goals and expectations of each yogi on the retreat
- Listen to hear, not to reply
- Support other yogis through their journey should they need it, but with always consider your own boundaries
- Respect that meditations are a time of silent reflection, please do not disturb others by talking or whispering. Should you need to continuously cough or sneeze or get the fit of the giggles I ask you to quietly leave the studio and return when you feel you can
- I am happy for chat during the yoga practices, but while I am talking, instructing or assisting please refrain from talking as this is yours and everyone else's chance to learn.
- If another yogi asks a question during practice or a workshop please listen to both the question and the answer, as again, you may learn something
- Never assume that if I give one queue or instruction to one yogi that it is then right for you. I teach my classes so that they're inclusive and your yoga practice works best for your body
- Let Alex know at the start of each class if you'd like physical adjustments or not (COVID dependant)
- This retreat is a chance to reduce stress on your body, mentally and physically. I have asked that you do not overdo the yoga practice for this reason, but I also ask that you join us in eating the wonderful fresh food we will be preparing on site for each of your meal. Keep your snacks to the healthy kind if you bring any with you and completely eliminate alcohol during your stay. I will be supplying tea and coffee of course, but limiting caffeine intake to after 11am is recommended.
- I will not tolerate any negative behaviour towards any one or myself on this retreat, if you adhere to the house rules above we should have a wonderful stress free weekend. We should learn a lot, get to know each other and deepen our yoga practice. I cannot wait to experience this relaxing weekend at West Lexham with you.
- No shoes in the studio please
- No outdoor shoes passed the entrance in the Cattle Shed.
